    एवं लब्धवरो दैत्यो बिभ्रद्धेममयं वपुः । भगवत्यकरोद्द्वेषं भ्रातुर्वधमनुस्मरन् ॥ ७-४-४ ॥evaM labdhavaro daityo bibhraddhemamayaM vapuH । bhagavatyakaroddveSaM bhrAturvadhamanusmaran ॥ 7-4-4 ॥The demon Hiraṇyakaśipu, having thus been blessed by Lord Brahmā and having acquired a lustrous golden body, continued to remember the death of his brother and therefore be envious of Lord Viṣṇu. ॥ 7-4-4 ॥

    ततो जगाम भगवानमोघानुग्रहो विभुः । पूजितोऽसुरवर्येण स्तूयमानः प्रजेश्वरैः ॥ ७-४-३ ॥tato jagAma bhagavAnamoghAnugraho vibhuH । pUjito'suravaryeNa stUyamAnaH prajezvaraiH ॥ 7-4-3 ॥Then Lord Brahmā, who awards infallible benedictions, departed, being worshiped by the best of the demons, Hiraṇyakaśipu, and being praised by great sages and saintly persons. ॥ 7-4-3 ॥

    ब्रह्मोवाच तातेमे दुर्लभाः पुंसां यान् वृणीषे वरान् मम । तथापि वितराम्यङ्ग वरान् यदपि दुर्लभान्॥ ७-४-२ ॥brahmovAca tAteme durlabhAH puMsAM yAn vRNISe varAn mama । tathApi vitarAmyaGga varAn yadapi durlabhAn॥ 7-4-2 ॥Lord Brahmā said: O Hiraṇyakaśipu, these benedictions for which you have asked are difficult to obtain for most men. Nonetheless, O my son, I shall grant you them although they are generally not available. ॥ 7-4-2 ॥

    नारद उवाच एवं वृतः शतधृतिर्हिरण्यकशिपोरथ । प्रादात्तत्तपसा प्रीतो वरांस्तस्य सुदुर्लभान् ॥ ७-४-१ ॥nArada uvAca evaM vRtaH zatadhRtirhiraNyakaziporatha । prAdAttattapasA prIto varAMstasya sudurlabhAn ॥ 7-4-1 ॥Nārada Muni continued: Lord Brahmā was very much satisfied by Hiraṇyakaśipu’s austerities, which were difficult to perform. Therefore, when solicited for benedictions, he indeed granted them, although they were rarely to be achieved. ॥ 7-4-1 ॥

    राज्ञामृद्दिविशेषा हि दृश्यन्ते भुवि यादृशाः । तादृशैरिह कुर्वन्तु वानरा भर्तृसत्क्रियाम् ॥ ४-२५-३२rAjJAmRddivizeSA hi dRzyante bhuvi yAdRzAH । tAdRzairiha kurvantu vAnarA bhartRsatkriyAm ॥ 4-25-32'Let the monkeys perform the funeral rites of our lord in an honourable way as expensively as has been done with regard to the obsequies of kings who ruled over this land. ॥ 4-25-32॥

    ततो वालिनमुद्यम्य सुग्रीवश्शिबिकां तदा । आरोपयत विक्रोशन्नङ्गदेन सहैव तु ॥ ४-२५-२८tato vAlinamudyamya sugrIvazzibikAM tadA । Aropayata vikrozannaGgadena sahaiva tu ॥ 4-25-28Then Sugriva along with Angada, crying aloud bitterly, lifted the body (of Vali) and placed it on the palanquin. ॥ 4-25-28॥
