य॒ज्ञस्य॑ वो र॒थ्यं॑ वि॒श्पतिं॑ वि॒शां होता॑रम॒क्तोरति॑थिं वि॒भाव॑सुम् । शोच॒ञ्छुष्का॑सु॒ हरि॑णीषु॒ जर्भु॑र॒द्वृषा॑ के॒तुर्य॑ज॒तो द्याम॑शायत ॥ यज्ञस्य वो रथ्यं विश्पतिं विशां होतारमक्तोरतिथिं विभावसुम् । शोचञ्छुष्कासु हरिणीषु जर्भुरद्वृषा केतुर्यजतो द्यामशायत ॥

sanskrit

You (gods, adore) the charioteer of the sacrifice, the lord of men, the invoker of the gods, the guest ofnight, the resplendent (Agni). Blazing amid the dry (bushes) preying upon the green, the showerer of desires, thebanner (of light), the adorable, he reposes in heaven.

इ॒मम॑ञ्ज॒स्पामु॒भये॑ अकृण्वत ध॒र्माण॑म॒ग्निं वि॒दथ॑स्य॒ साध॑नम् । अ॒क्तुं न य॒ह्वमु॒षस॑: पु॒रोहि॑तं॒ तनू॒नपा॑तमरु॒षस्य॑ निंसते ॥ इममञ्जस्पामुभये अकृण्वत धर्माणमग्निं विदथस्य साधनम् । अक्तुं न यह्वमुषसः पुरोहितं तनूनपातमरुषस्य निंसते ॥

Both (men and gods) have made Agni the speedy protector, the upholder of duty, the accomplisher ofthe sacrifice; they have recourse to him (who is) vast as the sun, the precursor of the dawn, the son of the brilliant (Vāyu).

english translation

i॒mama॑Jja॒spAmu॒bhaye॑ akRNvata dha॒rmANa॑ma॒gniM vi॒datha॑sya॒ sAdha॑nam | a॒ktuM na ya॒hvamu॒Sasa॑: pu॒rohi॑taM॒ tanU॒napA॑tamaru॒Sasya॑ niMsate || imamaJjaspAmubhaye akRNvata dharmANamagniM vidathasya sAdhanam | aktuM na yahvamuSasaH purohitaM tanUnapAtamaruSasya niMsate ||

बळ॑स्य नी॒था वि प॒णेश्च॑ मन्महे व॒या अ॑स्य॒ प्रहु॑ता आसु॒रत्त॑वे । य॒दा घो॒रासो॑ अमृत॒त्वमाश॒तादिज्जन॑स्य॒ दैव्य॑स्य चर्किरन् ॥ बळस्य नीथा वि पणेश्च मन्महे वया अस्य प्रहुता आसुरत्तवे । यदा घोरासो अमृतत्वमाशतादिज्जनस्य दैव्यस्य चर्किरन् ॥

We desire that our notion of that adorable (Agni) may be true, and that our oblations may be to him forfood. When his formidable (flames) attain immortality, then may our priests scatter (oblations for the benefit) ofthe divine being.

english translation

baLa॑sya nI॒thA vi pa॒Nezca॑ manmahe va॒yA a॑sya॒ prahu॑tA Asu॒ratta॑ve | ya॒dA gho॒rAso॑ amRta॒tvamAza॒tAdijjana॑sya॒ daivya॑sya carkiran || baLasya nIthA vi paNezca manmahe vayA asya prahutA Asurattave | yadA ghorAso amRtatvamAzatAdijjanasya daivyasya carkiran ||

ऋ॒तस्य॒ हि प्रसि॑ति॒र्द्यौरु॒रु व्यचो॒ नमो॑ म॒ह्य१॒॑रम॑ति॒: पनी॑यसी । इन्द्रो॑ मि॒त्रो वरु॑ण॒: सं चि॑कित्रि॒रेऽथो॒ भग॑: सवि॒ता पू॒तद॑क्षसः ॥ ऋतस्य हि प्रसितिर्द्यौरुरु व्यचो नमो मह्यरमतिः पनीयसी । इन्द्रो मित्रो वरुणः सं चिकित्रिरेऽथो भगः सविता पूतदक्षसः ॥

sanskrit

The vast heavven, the spacious firmament, the glorious unbounded earth, (do) homage (to the Agni)of the sacrifice; and Indra, Mitra, Varuṇa, Bhaga, and Savitā, whose strength is purified, unite to recognize (hisexcellence). the circumambient (Indra) sweeping over a wide space, roaring in the belly (of the firmament), sprinkles the whole world.

R॒tasya॒ hi prasi॑ti॒rdyauru॒ru vyaco॒ namo॑ ma॒hya1॒॑rama॑ti॒: panI॑yasI | indro॑ mi॒tro varu॑Na॒: saM ci॑kitri॒re'tho॒ bhaga॑: savi॒tA pU॒tada॑kSasaH || Rtasya hi prasitirdyaururu vyaco namo mahyaramatiH panIyasI | indro mitro varuNaH saM cikitrire'tho bhagaH savitA pUtadakSasaH ||

प्र रु॒द्रेण॑ य॒यिना॑ यन्ति॒ सिन्ध॑वस्ति॒रो म॒हीम॒रम॑तिं दधन्विरे । येभि॒: परि॑ज्मा परि॒यन्नु॒रु ज्रयो॒ वि रोरु॑वज्ज॒ठरे॒ विश्व॑मु॒क्षते॑ ॥ प्र रुद्रेण ययिना यन्ति सिन्धवस्तिरो महीमरमतिं दधन्विरे । येभिः परिज्मा परियन्नुरु ज्रयो वि रोरुवज्जठरे विश्वमुक्षते ॥

They are the ones who stretch out the universe in the womb of the sun-god.When the sun-god, the sun-god, stretches out the universe, he slipped the entire universe in his womb.
