आगमिष्यति ते भर्ता श्रीघ्रं हत्वा मृगोत्तमम् । न च तस्य स्वरो व्यक्तं मायया केन चित्कृतः ॥ ३-४५-१६
Your husband will soon return with the excellent deer killed. Surely it is not his voice. It is contrived by some one's illusory power. ॥ 3-45-16॥
english translation
AgamiSyati te bhartA zrIghraM hatvA mRgottamam । na ca tasya svaro vyaktaM mAyayA kena citkRtaH ॥ 3-45-16
hk transliteration by Sanscriptगन्धर्वनगरप्रख्या माया सा तस्य रक्षसः । न्यासभूतासि वैदेहि न्यस्ता मयि महात्मना ॥ ३-४५-१७
It is the illusion created by that demon, like the city of the gandharvas. (which does not exist.) Oh ! Vaidehi, the great self ( Rama ) has entrusted your safety to me. ॥ 3-45-17॥
english translation
gandharvanagaraprakhyA mAyA sA tasya rakSasaH । nyAsabhUtAsi vaidehi nyastA mayi mahAtmanA ॥ 3-45-17
hk transliteration by Sanscriptरामेण त्वं वरारोहे न त्वां त्यक्तुमिहोत्सहे । कृतवैराश्च वैदेहि वयमेतैर्निशाचरैः ॥ ३-४५-१८
I do not wish to leave you here alone, oh ! best of women. Oh Vaidehi, we have developed enmity with the demons since Rama . - ॥ 3-45-18॥
english translation
rAmeNa tvaM varArohe na tvAM tyaktumihotsahe । kRtavairAzca vaidehi vayametairnizAcaraiH ॥ 3-45-18
hk transliteration by Sanscriptखरस्य निधनादेव जनस्थानवधं प्रति । राक्षसा विविधा वाचो विसृजन्ति महावने ॥ ३-४५-१९
- killed Khara and the residents of Janasthana. In great forests these demons employed various voices . - ॥ 3-45-19॥

kharasya nidhanAdeva janasthAnavadhaM prati । rAkSasA vividhA vAco visRjanti mahAvane ॥ 3-45-19
hk transliteration by Sanscriptहिंसाविहारा वैदेहि न चिन्तयितुमर्हसि । लक्ष्मणेनैवमुक्ता सा क्रुद्धा संरक्तलोचना ॥ ३-४५-२०
- while wandering and tormenting others. You need not worry about them.' Addressed thus by Lakshmana, Sita got mighty angry. Her eyes turned red . - ॥ 3-45-20॥
