रामभूतमिदं सर्वमरण्यं प्रतिभाति मे । राममेव हि पश्यामि रहिते राक्षसाधिप ॥ ३-३९-१६
The entire forest appears to me as though filled with Rama. Oh ! king of the demons I see only Rama even in solitude. ॥ 3-39-16॥
english translation
rAmabhUtamidaM sarvamaraNyaM pratibhAti me । rAmameva hi pazyAmi rahite rAkSasAdhipa ॥ 3-39-16
hk transliteration by Sanscriptदृष्ट्वा स्वप्नगतं राममुद्भ्रमामि विचेतनः । रकारादीनि नामानि रामत्रस्तस्य रावण ॥ ३-३९-१७
When I see him in a dream I lose my senses in a state of bewilderment. Oh ! Ravana, for one frightened by Rama, every name beginning with the letter 'Ra' - ॥ 3-39-17॥
english translation
dRSTvA svapnagataM rAmamudbhramAmi vicetanaH । rakArAdIni nAmAni rAmatrastasya rAvaNa ॥ 3-39-17
hk transliteration by Sanscriptरत्नानि च रथाश्चैव त्रासं संजनयन्ति मे । अहं तस्य प्रभावज्ञो न युद्धं तेन ते क्षमम् ॥ ३-३९-१८
- such as Ratna (gems), Ratha (chariot), etc. strike terror in me. I know his power.It is not proper to wage a war with him. ॥ 3-39-18॥
english translation
ratnAni ca rathAzcaiva trAsaM saMjanayanti me । ahaM tasya prabhAvajJo na yuddhaM tena te kSamam ॥ 3-39-18
hk transliteration by Sanscriptबलिं वा नमुचिं वापि हन्याद्धि रघुनन्दनः । रणे रामेण युद्ध्यस्व क्षमां वा कुरु राक्षस ॥ ३-३९-१९
Rama, delight of the Raghu dynasty, can slay even Bali or Namuchi. You may either wage a war with Rama ( if you wish to avenge the killings of Khara and others ), or forgive and forget . - ॥ 3-39-19॥
english translation
baliM vA namuciM vApi hanyAddhi raghunandanaH । raNe rAmeNa yuddhyasva kSamAM vA kuru rAkSasa ॥ 3-39-19
hk transliteration by Sanscriptन ते रामकथा कार्या यदि मां द्रष्टुमिच्छसि । बहवस्साधवो लोके युक्ता धर्ममनुष्ठिताः ॥ ३-३९-२०
- that Rama agreeing to my suggestions, but do not broach the topic of Rama with me if you wish to see me alive. There were many pious men in this world who practise yoga and dharma . - ॥ 3-39-20॥
english translation
na te rAmakathA kAryA yadi mAM draSTumicchasi । bahavassAdhavo loke yuktA dharmamanuSThitAH ॥ 3-39-20
