गुणाः सुविदिता हय आसन मम तस्य महात्मनः आसीच च स मया तुष्टः कुरुराजॊ युधिष्ठिरः ।। ४-९-११ ।।

'My skills were recognized by that illustrious one, and King Yudhishthira was well pleased with me.' ।। 4-9-11 ।।

guNAH suviditA haya Asana mama tasya mahAtmanaH AsIca ca sa mayA tuSTaH kururAjò yudhiSThiraH || 4-9-11 ||

कषिप्रं हि गावॊ बहुला भवन्ति; न तासु रॊगॊ भवतीह कश चित तैस तैर उपायैर विदितं मयैतद; एतानि शिल्पानि मयि सथितानि ।। ४-९-१२ ।।

'I am well versed in the arts that help cattle multiply swiftly and protect them from disease. I know the various remedies and measures to keep them healthy; these arts and skills are well established in me.' ।। 4-9-12 ।।

kaSipraM hi gAvò bahulA bhavanti; na tAsu rògò bhavatIha kaza cita taisa taira upAyaira viditaM mayaitada; etAni zilpAni mayi sathitAni || 4-9-12 ||

वृषभांश चापि जानामि राजन पूजित लक्षणान येषां मूत्रम उपाघ्राय अपि वन्ध्या परसूयते ।। ४-९-१३ ।।

'I also possess the knowledge to select bulls bearing auspicious marks, those revered by men, and by the scent of whose urine the barren may conceive.' ।। 4-9-13 ।।

'Virata said, "I have a hundred thousand cattle, divided into separate herds. All of these, along with their keepers, I entrust to thy care. From now on, my beasts shall be under thy protection."' ।। 4-9-14 ।।

[virATa] zataM sahasrANi samAhitAni; varNasya varNasya vinizcitA guNaiH pazUna sapAlAna bhavate dadAmya ahaM; tavadAzrayA me pazavò bhavantva iha || 4-9-14 ||

[वै] तथा स राज्ञॊ ऽविदितॊ विशां पते; उवास तत्रैव सुखं नरेश्वरः न चैनम अन्ये ऽपि विदुः कथं चन; परादाच च तस्मै भरणं यथेप्सितम ।। ४-९-१५ ।।

'Vaisampayana continued: "Then, O king, undiscovered by the monarch, that lord of men, Sahadeva, living under Virata’s protection, began to dwell happily. None besides his brothers recognized him."' ।। 4-9-15 ।।
