कषमा दमश च सत्यं च आनृशंस्यम अथार्जवम एते चान्ये च बहवॊ गुणा यस्मिन दविजॊत्तमे ॥ ४-५३-६ ॥
'Forgiveness, self-control, truthfulness, non-violence, and upright conduct—these and countless other virtues abide in that noble soul.' ॥ 4-53-6 ॥

kaSamA damaza ca satyaM ca AnRzaMsyama athArjavama ete cAnye ca bahavò guNA yasmina davijòttame ॥ 4-53-6 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतेनाहं यॊद्धुम इच्छामि महाभागेन संयुगे तस्मात तवं परापयाचार्यं कषिप्रम उत्तरवाहय ॥ ४-५३-७ ॥
'I desire to face that highly blessed warrior in battle. Therefore, carry me swiftly before the preceptor, O Uttara, and bring me to him.' ॥ 4-53-7 ॥

tenAhaM yòddhuma icchAmi mahAbhAgena saMyuge tasmAta tavaM parApayAcAryaM kaSiprama uttaravAhaya ॥ 4-53-7 ॥

'Meanwhile, Drona, like a raging elephant charging at an equally fierce rival, rushed fiercely toward Partha, the son of Pandu—the foremost of chariot warriors.' ॥ 4-53-9 ॥

hk transliteration by Sanscriptततः परध्मापयच छङ्खं भेरी शतनिनादितम परचुक्षुभे बलं सर्वम उद्धूत इव सागरः ॥ ४-५३-१० ॥
'The son of Bharadwaja then blew his conch, its blast sounding like a hundred trumpets. At that resounding call, the entire army stirred like the sea in a raging storm.' ॥ 4-53-10 ॥
