अथ शॊणान सदश्वांस तान हन्स वर्णैर मनॊजवैः मिश्रितान समरे दृष्ट्वा वयस्मयन्त रणे जनाः ॥ ४-५३-११ ॥

'Witnessing the clash of those magnificent crimson steeds with Arjuna’s swan-white horses, fleet as the mind itself, all onlookers were struck with awe.' ॥ 4-53-11 ॥

english translation

atha zòNAna sadazvAMsa tAna hansa varNaira manòjavaiH mizritAna samare dRSTvA vayasmayanta raNe janAH ॥ 4-53-11 ॥

तौ रथौ वीर्यसंपन्नौ दृष्ट्वा संग्राममूर्धनि आचार्य शिष्याव अजितौ कृतविध्यौ मनस्विनौ ॥ ४-५३-१२ ॥

'Seeing those two chariots endowed with valor at the head of battle - teacher and disciple, both unconquered, both skilled in archery, both noble-minded.' ॥ 4-53-12 ॥

tau rathau vIryasaMpannau dRSTvA saMgrAmamUrdhani AcArya ziSyAva ajitau kRtavidhyau manasvinau ॥ 4-53-12 ॥

समाश्लिष्टौ तदान्यॊन्यं दरॊणपार्थौ महाबलौ दृष्ट्वा पराकम्पत मुहुर भरतानां महद बलम ॥ ४-५३-१३ ॥

'Seeing Droṇa and Pārtha (Arjuna), those two mighty warriors, locked in close combat with each other, the great army of the Bharatas trembled repeatedly.' ॥ 4-53-13 ॥

हर्षयुक्तस तथा पार्थः परहसन्न इव विर्यवान रथं रथेन दरॊणस्य समासाद्य महारथः ॥ ४-५३-१४ ॥

'And that mighty car-warrior, Partha—endowed with great prowess and filled with joy—approached Drona’s chariot with his own and offered respectful salutations to his preceptor.' ॥ 4-53-14 ॥
