नास्यानिष्टानि सेवेत नाहितैः सह संवसेत सवस्थानान न विकम्पेत स राजवसतिं वसेत ॥ ४-४-२१ ॥
'He who does not stray from his appointed place, who is not friendly with the king’s enemies, and who never attempts to wrong the king — such a man alone is worthy of dwelling in the royal household.' ॥ 4-4-21 ॥
english translation
nAsyAniSTAni seveta nAhitaiH saha saMvaseta savasthAnAna na vikampeta sa rAjavasatiM vaseta ॥ 4-4-21 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptदक्षिणं वाथ वामं वा पार्श्वम आसीत पण्डितः रक्षिणां हय आत्तशस्त्राणां सथानं पश्चाद विधीयते नित्यं विप्रतिषिद्धं तु पुरस्ताद आसनं महत ॥ ४-४-२२ ॥
'A learned man should seat himself either to the right or left of the king; he should never sit behind him, for that place is reserved for the armed guards, and to sit directly in front of the king is always forbidden.' ॥ 4-4-22 ॥
english translation
dakSiNaM vAtha vAmaM vA pArzvama AsIta paNDitaH rakSiNAM haya AttazastrANAM sathAnaM pazcAda vidhIyate nityaM vipratiSiddhaM tu purastAda AsanaM mahata ॥ 4-4-22 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptन च संदर्शने किं चित परवृद्धम अपि संजपेत अपि हय एतद दरिद्राणां वयलीक सथानम उत्तमम ॥ ४-४-२३ ॥
'Let no one, while the king is engaged in dealing with his attendants, step forward eagerly ahead of others — for even if the person wronged is very poor, such forwardness is deemed inexcusable.' ॥ 4-4-23 ॥
english translation
na ca saMdarzane kiM cita paravRddhama api saMjapeta api haya etada daridrANAM vayalIka sathAnama uttamama ॥ 4-4-23 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptन मृषाभिहितं राज्ञॊ मनुष्येषु परकाशयेत यं चासूयन्ति राजानः पुरुषं न वदेच च तम ॥ ४-४-२४ ॥
'One should not disclose among men what the king has spoken falsely; nor should he mention the name of any person whom the king holds in contempt.' ॥ 4-4-24 ॥

na mRSAbhihitaM rAjJò manuSyeSu parakAzayeta yaM cAsUyanti rAjAnaH puruSaM na vadeca ca tama ॥ 4-4-24 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptशूरॊ ऽसमीति न दृप्तः सयाद बुद्धिमान इति वा पुनः परियम एवाचरन राज्ञः परियॊ भवति भॊगवान ॥ ४-४-२५ ॥
'Kings often disregard those who are proud of their own learning. No one should grow arrogant thinking, 'I am brave,' or 'I am wise.' Rather, by acting in accordance with the king’s wishes, a person wins his favor and enjoys the blessings of life.' ॥ 4-4-25 ॥

zUrò 'samIti na dRptaH sayAda buddhimAna iti vA punaH pariyama evAcarana rAjJaH pariyò bhavati bhògavAna ॥ 4-4-25 ॥
