[य] कर्माण्य उक्तानि युष्माभिर यानि तानि करिष्यथ मम चापि यथाबुद्धिरुचितानि विनिश्चयात ।। ४-४-१ ।।

sanskrit

'[Yudhishthira said:] “The tasks that you all have described — those you shall indeed carry out. As for me, I too shall do whatever seems appropriate, to the best of my understanding and judgment.”' ।। 4-4-1 ।।

english translation

[ya] karmANya uktAni yuSmAbhira yAni tAni kariSyatha mama cApi yathAbuddhirucitAni vinizcayAta || 4-4-1 ||

पुरॊहितॊ ऽयम अस्माकम अग्निहॊत्राणि रक्षतु सूदपौरॊगवैः सार्धं दरुपदस्य निवेशने ।। ४-४-२ ।।

sanskrit

'Let our priest, accompanied by the charioteers and cooks, proceed to the palace of Drupada and there continue the performance of our Agnihotra rituals.' ।। 4-4-2 ।।

english translation

puròhitò 'yama asmAkama agnihòtrANi rakSatu sUdapaurògavaiH sArdhaM darupadasya nivezane || 4-4-2 ||

इन्द्रसेन मुखाश चेमे रथान आदाय केवलान यान्तु दवारवतीं शीघ्रम इति मे वर्तते मतिः ।। ४-४-३ ।।

sanskrit

'Let Indrasena and the others take the empty chariots and swiftly journey to Dwaravati — such is my desire.' ।। 4-4-3 ।।

english translation

indrasena mukhAza ceme rathAna AdAya kevalAna yAntu davAravatIM zIghrama iti me vartate matiH || 4-4-3 ||

इमाश च नार्यॊ दरौपद्याः सर्वशः परिचारिकाः पाञ्चालान एव गच्छन्तु सूदपौरॊगवैः सह ।। ४-४-४ ।।

'Let all of Draupadi’s maidservants go to the Panchala kingdom, along with the charioteers and cooks.' ।। 4-4-4 ।।

imAza ca nAryò daraupadyAH sarvazaH paricArikAH pAJcAlAna eva gacchantu sUdapaurògavaiH saha || 4-4-4 ||

सर्वैर अपि च वक्तव्यं न परज्ञायन्त पाण्डवाः गता हय अस्मान अपाकीर्य सर्वे दवैतवनाद इति ।। ४-४-५ ।।

sanskrit

'And let them all declare, 'We do not know where the Pandavas have gone, for they left us behind at the lake of Dwaitavana.'' ।। 4-4-5 ।।

english translation

sarvaira api ca vaktavyaM na parajJAyanta pANDavAH gatA haya asmAna apAkIrya sarve davaitavanAda iti || 4-4-5 ||
