यत्नाच चॊपचरेद एनम अग्निवद देववच च ह अनृतेनॊपचीर्णॊ हि हिंस्याद एनम असंशयम ।। ४-४-१६ ।।
'Kings should be served with attentive reverence, even as one would serve Agni or other gods; for he who is disloyal to his sovereign is surely destroyed by him.' ।। 4-4-16 ।।
समर्थनासु सर्वासु हितं च परियम एव च संवर्णयेत तद एवास्य परियाद अपि हितं वदेत ।। ४-४-१८ ।।
'After thoughtful consideration, he should present to the monarch matters that are both beneficial and agreeable. Yet, even if a subject is profitable but not pleasant, he must still convey it, despite its disagreeable nature.' ।। 4-4-18 ।।
'A man should remain well-disposed towards the king in all his affairs, and refrain from speech that is both unpleasant and unprofitable.' ।। 4-4-19 ।।
नाहम अस्य परियॊ ऽसमीति मत्वा सेवेत पण्डितः अप्रमत्तश च यत्तश च हितं कुर्यात परियं च यत ।। ४-४-२० ।।
'One should never indulge the thought, 'I am not favored by the king.' Instead, he must cast aside all negligence and remain intent on accomplishing what is both agreeable and beneficial to the monarch.' ।। 4-4-20 ।।
