अथ यत्रैनम आसीनं शङ्केरन दुष्टचारिणः न तत्रॊपविशेज जातु स राजवसतिं वसेत ॥ ४-४-११ ॥
'He alone is fit to dwell in a royal household who refrains from occupying any seat that might arouse suspicion in the minds of the malicious.' ॥ 4-4-11 ॥
english translation
atha yatrainama AsInaM zaGkerana duSTacAriNaH na tatròpavizeja jAtu sa rAjavasatiM vaseta ॥ 4-4-11 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptन चानुशिष्येद राजानम अपृच्छन्तं कदा चन तूष्णीं तव एनम उपासीत काले समभिपूजयन ॥ ४-४-१२ ॥
'No one should offer advice to a king uninvited. One must pay homage to the king at the proper time, and then sit beside him silently and respectfully.' ॥ 4-4-12 ॥
english translation
na cAnuziSyeda rAjAnama apRcchantaM kadA cana tUSNIM tava enama upAsIta kAle samabhipUjayana ॥ 4-4-12 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअसूयन्ति हि राजानॊ जनान अनृतवादिनः तथैव चावमन्यन्ते मन्त्रिणं वादिनं मृषा ॥ ४-४-१३ ॥
'Kings grow resentful towards those who speak falsehoods, and likewise they hold in contempt a counsellor who speaks untruthfully.' ॥ 4-4-13 ॥
english translation
asUyanti hi rAjAnò janAna anRtavAdinaH tathaiva cAvamanyante mantriNaM vAdinaM mRSA ॥ 4-4-13 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptनैषां दारेषु कुर्वीत मैत्रीं पराज्ञः कथं चन अन्तःपुर चरा ये च दवेष्टि यानहिताश च ये ॥ ४-४-१४ ॥
'A wise person should never form friendships with the king’s wife, nor with those who dwell in the inner chambers, nor with individuals who are the objects of the king’s displeasure.' ॥ 4-4-14 ॥
english translation
naiSAM dAreSu kurvIta maitrIM parAjJaH kathaM cana antaHpura carA ye ca daveSTi yAnahitAza ca ye ॥ 4-4-14 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptविदिते चास्य कुर्वीत कर्याणि सुलघून्य अपि एवं विचरतॊ राज्ञॊ न कषतिर जायते कव चित ॥ ४-४-१५ ॥
'One who serves near a king should perform even the smallest tasks, and always with the king’s knowledge. Acting in this way, one incurs no harm from the sovereign.' ॥ 4-4-15 ॥

vidite cAsya kurvIta karyANi sulaghUnya api evaM vicaratò rAjJò na kaSatira jAyate kava cita ॥ 4-4-15 ॥
