समर्थनासु सर्वासु हितं च परियम एव च संवर्णयेत तद एवास्य परियाद अपि हितं वदेत ॥ ४-४-१८ ॥

sanskrit

'After thoughtful consideration, he should present to the monarch matters that are both beneficial and agreeable. Yet, even if a subject is profitable but not pleasant, he must still convey it, despite its disagreeable nature.' ।। 4-4-18 ।।

english translation

samarthanAsu sarvAsu hitaM ca pariyama eva ca saMvarNayeta tada evAsya pariyAda api hitaM vadeta ॥ 4-4-18 ॥
