[अर्ज] सर्वाञ जनपदाञ जित्वा वित्तम आच्छिद्य केवलम मध्ये धनस्य तिष्ठामि तेनाहुर मां धनंजयम ॥ ४-३९-११ ॥
'Arjuna said: "They call me Dhananjaya, the conqueror of wealth, for I subdued all the kingdoms and seized their treasures, dwelling amidst untold riches."' ॥ 4-39-11 ॥
english translation
अभिप्रयामि संग्रामे यद अहं युद्धदुर्मदा नाजित्वा विनिवर्तामि तेन मां विजयं विदुः ॥ ४-३९-१२ ॥
'When I set forth for battle, filled with unshakable resolve and fierce determination, I never return without securing victory— and for this, I am known as Vijaya, the ever-triumphant one.' ॥ 4-39-12 ॥

शवेताः काञ्चनसंनाहा रथे युज्यन्ति मे हयाः संग्रामे युध्यमानस्य तेनाहं शवेतवाहनः ॥ ४-३९-१३ ॥
'They call me Swetavāhana, for white steeds, adorned in golden armour, are ever yoked to my chariot when I march to war.' ॥ 4-39-13 ॥

उत्तराभ्यां च पूर्वाभ्यां फल्गुनीभ्याम अहं दिवा जातॊ हिमवतः पृष्ठे तेन मां फल्गुनं विदुः ॥ ४-३९-१४ ॥
'And I am known as Phālguna, because I was born upon the slopes of Himavat on the day when the constellation Uttara-Phālguni was in ascension.' ॥ 4-39-14 ॥

पुरा शक्रेण मे दत्तं युध्यतॊ दानवर्षभैः किरीटं मूर्ध्नि सूर्याभं तेन माहुः किरीटिनम ॥ ४-३९-१५ ॥
'Arjuna said: “I am called Kiritin because of the radiant diadem, shining like the sun, which Indra bestowed upon my head long ago when I faced the mighty Danavas in battle."' ॥ 4-39-15 ॥
