'There are no troops to support me. I am alone—and but a mere boy, untrained and inexperienced in the art of arms. How can I face this countless host of seasoned warriors, all skilled in weapons? Therefore, O Vrihannala, turn back! Do not advance any further!' ।। 4-36-16 ।।
[अर्ज] भयेन दीनरूपॊ ऽसि दविषतां हर्षवर्धनः न च तावत कृतं किं चित परैः कर्म रणाजिरे ।। ४-३६-१७ ।।
'Vrihannala (Arjuna) said: “Why do you grow pale with fear and bring delight to your enemies? You have not yet even set foot on the battlefield, nor struck a single blow."' ।। 4-36-17 ।।
सवयम एव च माम आत्थ वह मां कौरवान परति सॊ ऽहं तवां तत्र नेष्यामि यत्रैते बहुला धवजाः ।। ४-३६-१८ ।।
'Was it not you who commanded me, saying, ‘Take me to the Kauravas’? So now I shall take you there—where countless banners flutter over the enemy’s ranks.' ।। 4-36-18 ।।
'Certainly, O mighty-armed one, I will take you straight into the midst of the Kuru host, who stand ready to fight for the cattle, as hawks swoop upon flesh. I would do this, even if I believed they had come here to wage war for no less a prize than the sovereignty of the entire earth.' ।। 4-36-19 ।।
