[भीमस] दिष्ट्या तवं दर्शनीयॊ ऽसि दिष्ट्यात्मानं परशंससि ईदृशस तु तवया सपर्शः सपृष्टपूर्वॊ न कर्हि चित ॥ ४-२१-४६ ॥
'Hearing this, Bhima replied with a mocking tone, "Indeed, it’s good that you’re handsome—and good that you enjoy praising yourself. But I suspect you’ve never felt a touch quite like this before!"' ॥ 4-21-46 ॥

[bhImasa] diSTyA tavaM darzanIyò 'si diSTyAtmAnaM parazaMsasi IdRzasa tu tavayA saparzaH sapRSTapUrvò na karhi cita ॥ 4-21-46 ॥

'Vaisampayana continued: Having said this, Bhima, the mighty-armed son of Kunti, fierce in strength, suddenly rose up and laughed. Then he said, 'O wretch, today your sister shall see you hurled to the ground by me—like a towering elephant, mighty as a mountain, brought down by a lion. With that, the mighty Bhima seized Kichaka by the hair, which was adorned with fragrant garlands.' ॥ 4-21-47 ॥
english translation
[vai] itya uktvA taM mahAbAhura bhImò bhImaparAkramaH samutpatya ca kaunteyaH parahasya ca narAdhamama bhImò jagrAha kezeSu mAlyavatsu sugandhiSu ॥ 4-21-47 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptस केशेषु परामृष्टॊ बलेन बलिनां वरः आक्षिप्य केशान वेगेन बाह्वॊर जग्राह पाण्डवम ॥ ४-२१-४८ ॥
'Gripped forcefully, Kichaka—strong and proud—wrenched himself free and caught hold of Bhima’s arms.' ॥ 4-21-48 ॥

sa kezeSu parAmRSTò balena balinAM varaH AkSipya kezAna vegena bAhvòra jagrAha pANDavama ॥ 4-21-48 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptबाहुयुद्धं तयॊर आसीत करुद्धयॊर नरसिंहयॊः वसन्ते वासिता हेतॊर बलवद गजयॊर इव ॥ ४-२१-४९ ॥
'Then, between these two lions among men—both burning with rage—there broke out a fierce hand-to-hand struggle. It was like the clash of two powerful elephants battling for a mate in the heat of spring.' ॥ 4-21-49 ॥

bAhuyuddhaM tayòra AsIta karuddhayòra narasiMhayòH vasante vAsitA hetòra balavada gajayòra iva ॥ 4-21-49 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptईषद आगलितं चापि करॊधाच चल पदं सथितम कीचकॊ बलवान भीमं जानुभ्याम आक्षिपद भुवि ॥ ४-२१-५० ॥
'And attacking Bhima, and making him wave a little, the mighty Kichaka struck him with his knees and brought him down to the ground. ' ॥ 4-21-50 ॥
