पातितॊ भुवि भीमस तु कीचकेन बलीयसा उत्पपाताथ वेगेन दण्डाहत इवॊरगः ॥ ४-२१-५१ ॥
'Overthrown by the mighty Kichaka, Bhima quickly rose like Yama himself wielding his mace.' ॥ 4-21-51 ॥
english translation
सपर्धया च बलॊन्मत्तौ ताव उभौ सूत पाण्डवौ निशीथे पर्यकर्षेतां बलिनौ निशि निर्जने ॥ ४-२१-५२ ॥
'Thus, the powerful Suta and the Pandava, both intoxicated with strength and daring each other, grappled fiercely in the dead of night within that lonely chamber.' ॥ 4-21-52 ॥
english translation
ततस तद भवनश्रेष्ठं पराकम्पत मुहुर मुहुः बलवच चापि संक्रुद्धाव अन्यॊन्यं ताव अगर्जताम ॥ ४-२१-५३ ॥
'As their furious roars echoed through the air, the sturdy hall itself trembled with each blow.' ॥ 4-21-53 ॥

तलाभ्यां तु स भीमेन वक्षस्य अभिहतॊ बली कीचकॊ रॊषसंतप्तः पदान न चलितः पदम ॥ ४-२१-५४ ॥
'Struck sharply on the chest by the mighty Bhima, the wrathful Kichaka did not budge an inch.' ॥ 4-21-54 ॥
english translation
मुहूर्तं तु स तं वेगं सहित्वा भुवि दुःसहम बलाद अहीयत तदा सूतॊ भीमबलार्दितः ॥ ४-२१-५५ ॥
'Yet, enduring for only a moment that overwhelming blow—one hardly bearable on earth—the mighty Suta began to weaken beneath Bhima’s strength.' ॥ 4-21-55 ॥
