शतं सहस्रम अपि वा गन्धर्वाणाम अहं रणे समागतं हनिष्यामि तवं भीरु कुरु मे कषणम ।। ४-२०-२१ ।।
'Thus addressed, Kichaka, wicked of soul, replied to me, saying: "I have no fear whatsoever of the Gandharvas, O Sairindhri of sweet smiles. Even if a hundred thousand of them were to face me in battle, I would slay them all. So, timid one, yield to me."' ।। 4-20-21 ।।
'Of noble lineage and virtuous disposition, I have always remained firm in righteousness. I do not desire the death of anyone — it is only for this reason, O Kichaka, that you still live.' ।। 4-20-23 ।।
एवम उक्तः स दुष्टात्मा परहस्य सवनवत तदा न तिष्ठति सम सन मार्गे न च धर्मं बुभूषति ।। ४-२०-२४ ।।
'When spoken to thus, that wicked-hearted man only laughed, as though drunk. He neither stood upon the path of virtue, nor had any desire to understand righteousness.' ।। 4-20-24 ।।
पापात्मा पापभावश च कामरागवशानुगः अविनीतश च दुष्टात्मा परत्याख्यातः पुनः पुनः दर्शने दर्शने हन्यात तथा जह्यां च जीवितम ।। ४-२०-२५ ।।
'That evil-hearted man, filled with wicked thoughts and driven by lust, Shameless and corrupt, though I rejected him again and again, Would assail me each time he saw me — to such a degree that I longed to end my life.' ।। 4-20-25 ।।
