'Whenever I see Partha, the lord of the Matsya kingdom, standing before King Virata amidst the music-hall, I lose all sense of direction.' ।। 4-18-22 ।।
'Surely, my mother-in-law knows not that Dhananjaya is enduring such profound distress. Nor does she know that Ajatasatru, the scion of the Kuru race, is sunk in misery, enslaved by the ruinous game of dice.' ।। 4-18-23 ।।
तथा दृष्ट्वा यवीयांसं सहदेवं युधां पतिम गॊषु गॊवेषम आयान्तं पाण्डुभूतास्मि भारत ।। ४-१८-२४ ।।
'O Bharata, whenever I behold the youngest among you, Sahadeva, tending the cattle in the guise of a cowherd, my heart sinks and my face grows pale.' ।। 4-18-24 ।।
सहदेवस्य वृत्तानि चिन्तयन्ती पुनः पुनः न विन्दामि महाबाहॊ सहदेवस्य दुष्कृतम यस्मिन्न एवंविधं दुःखं पराप्नुयात सत्यविक्रमः ।। ४-१८-२५ ।।
'Constantly thinking of his plight, I cannot find sleep, O Bhimasena— and what then can be said of the sorrow I feel for the rest of you? I know not, O mighty-armed one, what fault or sin Sahadeva might have committed that he, a hero of unshaken prowess, should now endure such misery.' ।। 4-18-25 ।।
