नॊपालभे तवां नृपतौ विराट जनसंसदि नाहम एतेन युक्ता वै हन्तुं मत्स्यतवान्तिके सभा सदस तु पश्यन्तु कीचकस्य वयतिक्रमम ।। ४-१५-२६ ।।

'That I should be humiliated like this in your very presence, O King of the Matsyas, is utterly disgraceful. Let every one of these courtiers bear witness to the violence of Kichaka. He knows nothing of righteousness or decency—and you, Matsya, are no different. And these courtiers of yours, who serve such a king, are likewise devoid of virtue.' ।। 4-15-26 ।।

nòpAlabhe tavAM nRpatau virATa janasaMsadi nAhama etena yuktA vai hantuM matsyatavAntike sabhA sadasa tu pazyantu kIcakasya vayatikramama || 4-15-26 ||

[विराट] परॊक्षं नाभिजानामि विग्रहं युवयॊर अहम अर्थतत्त्वम अविज्ञाय किं नु सयात कुशलं मम ।। ४-१५-२७ ।।

'Vaisampayana continued: With these words and many others like them, the beautiful Krishna (Draupadi), her eyes filled with tears, reproached the king of the Matsyas. And hearing her, King Virata replied: “I do not know what transpired between you two, as it happened beyond my sight. Without knowing the true cause of the conflict, how can I pass fair judgment?”' ।। 4-15-27 ।।

[virATa] paròkSaM nAbhijAnAmi vigrahaM yuvayòra ahama arthatattvama avijJAya kiM nu sayAta kuzalaM mama || 4-15-27 ||

[वै] ततस तु सभ्या विज्ञाय कृष्णां भूयॊ ऽभयपूजयन साधु साध्व इति चाप्य आहुः कीचकं च वयगर्हयन ।। ४-१५-२८ ।।

'Then, having come to know the truth of the matter, the courtiers praised Krishna (Draupadi). They all exclaimed, “Well done! Well spoken!” and began to censure Kichaka for his wickedness.' ।। 4-15-28 ।।

[vai] tatasa tu sabhyA vijJAya kRSNAM bhUyò 'bhayapUjayana sAdhu sAdhva iti cApya AhuH kIcakaM ca vayagarhayana || 4-15-28 ||

[सभ्या] यस्येयं चारुसर्वाङ्गी भार्या सयाद आयतेक्षणा परॊ लाभश च तस्य सयान न स शॊचेत कदा चन ।। ४-१५-२९ ।।

'The man who has this large-eyed lady, with every limb adorned by beauty, as his wife— truly, he possesses a treasure beyond price and has no reason for sorrow.' ।। 4-15-29 ।।

[sabhyA] yasyeyaM cArusarvAGgI bhAryA sayAda AyatekSaNA parò lAbhaza ca tasya sayAna na sa zòceta kadA cana || 4-15-29 ||

'Vaisampayana continued: And as the courtiers, having witnessed Krishna (Draupadi) in such a state, continued to praise and honour her, a sign of Yudhishthira’s restrained fury began to appear— for from his anger, sweat broke out upon his forehead.' ।। 4-15-30 ।।
