इदं च रूपं परथमं च ते वयॊ; निरर्थकं केवलम अद्य भामिनि अधार्यमाणा सरग इवॊत्तमा यथा; न शॊभसे सुन्दरि शॊभना सती ॥ ४-१३-११ ॥
'O beautiful lady, this excellent form and your youth are now rendered meaningless today. Like a finest garland that is not being worn, O lovely one, though you are naturally radiant, you do not shine.' ॥ 4-13-11 ॥

तयजामि दारान मम ये पुरातना; भवन्तु दास्यस तव चारुहासिनि अहं च ते सुन्दरि दासवत सथितः; सदा भविष्ये वशगॊवरानने ॥ ४-१३-१२ ॥
'I abandon my wives who have been with me from before; let them become your servants, O you of charming smile. And I, O beautiful one, positioned like a servant to you, shall always remain under your control, O you with a face like a cow's (or excellent face).' ॥ 4-13-12 ॥

[दरौ] अप्रार्थनीयाम इह मां सूतपुत्राभिमन्यसे विहीनवर्णां सैरन्ध्रीं बीभत्सां केशकारिकाम ॥ ४-१३-१३ ॥
'[Draupadi speaks:] You consider me, who should not be entreated here, as a sairandhri (lady's maid) of low caste, hideous, and a hair-dresser, O son of a charioteer.' ॥ 4-13-13 ॥

परदारास्मि भद्रं ते न युक्तं तवयि सांप्रतम दयिताः पराणिनां दारा धर्मं समनुचिन्तय ॥ ४-१३-१४ ॥
'[Draupadī said:] “I am the wife of another, may all be well with thee! This is not proper for thee at all, especially now. Wives are dear to all living beings—reflect upon righteousness (dharma), and restrain thyself.”' ॥ 4-13-14 ॥

विवर्जनं हय अकार्याणाम एतत सत्पुरुषव्रतम ॥ ४-१३-१५ ॥
'Thy mind should never be set upon another’s wife—under any circumstance. For abstaining from the forbidden is the true vow of noble men.' ॥ 4-13-15 ॥
