[नकुल] पञ्चानां पाण्डुपुत्राणां जयेष्ठॊ राजा युधिष्ठिरः तेनाहम अश्वेषु पुरा परकृतः शत्रुकर्शन ॥ ४-११-६ ॥
'Nakula replied: "O subduer of foes, know that Yudhiṣṭhira is the eldest of the five sons of Pāṇḍu. I was formerly entrusted with the care of his horses."' ॥ 4-11-6 ॥
english translation
अश्वानां परकृतिं वेद्मि विनयं चापि सर्वशः दुष्टानां परतिपत्तिं च कृत्स्नं चैव चिकित्सितम ॥ ४-११-७ ॥
'I am well acquainted with the temperament of horses and thoroughly skilled in the art of training and breaking them. I know how to manage unruly steeds and am versed in every method of treating their ailments.' ॥ 4-11-7 ॥
english translation
न कातरं सयान मम जातु वाहनं; न मे ऽसति दुष्टा वडवा कुतॊ हयाः जनस तु माम आह स चापि पाण्डवॊ; युधिष्ठिरॊ गरन्थिकम एव नामतः ॥ ४-११-८ ॥
'No animal under my care ever becomes weak or unwell. Not just horses—even mares, when trained by me, never turn vicious. People knew me by the name Granthika, and so did Yudhiṣṭhira, the son of Pāṇḍu.' ॥ 4-11-8 ॥
english translation
[विराट] यद अस्ति किं चिन मम वाजिवाहनं; तद अस्तु सर्वं तवदधीनम अद्य वै ये चापि के चिन मम वाजियॊजकास; तवदाश्रयाः सारथयश च सन्तु मे ॥ ४-११-९ ॥
'No animal under my care ever becomes weak or unwell. Not just horses—even mares, when trained by me, never turn vicious. People knew me by the name Granthika, and so did Yudhiṣṭhira, the son of Pāṇḍu.' ॥ 4-11-9 ॥

इदं तवेष्टं यदि वै सुरॊपम; बरवीहि यत ते परसमीक्षितं वसु न ते ऽनुरूपं हयकर्म विद्यते; परभासि राजेव हि संमतॊ मम ॥ ४-११-१० ॥
'Virāṭa said: "From this day forth, I place all my horses under your care. All my horse-keepers and charioteers shall henceforth serve under your command. If this arrangement pleases you, speak freely—what reward do you desire? Yet, O you who resemble a celestial, the role of an equerry hardly seems befitting one of your stature."' ॥ 4-11-10 ॥
