Then we beheld something astonishing—credible, yet wondrous: O King, Bhīmasena’s deed in battle seemed beyond the measure of ordinary men.

english translation

Across the whole churned field—filled with horses, chariots, and elephants—Bhīmasena, unshaken, struck with his mace.

english translation

Having checked those massed troops with his mace, Bhīma—the foremost of chariot-warriors—stood firm amid the tumult, immovable like Mount Meru.

english translation

In that exceedingly tumultuous and dreadful moment, his brothers and sons, and Dhṛṣṭadyumna the son of Pārṣata (Drupada), were there in close engagement.

english translation

The sons of Draupadī, Abhimanyu, and Śikhaṇḍin the great chariot-warrior did not abandon Bhīmasena, even when fear arose in the surrounding ranks, for he was of mighty strength.
