When the son of Pārṣata (Dhṛṣṭadyumna) checked him with a dense shower of arrows, he could not advance from that position in the engagement, though he was powerful.

There we saw Dhṛṣṭadyumna, the great chariot-warrior, standing firm and warding off volleys of arrows with his shield, as though his hand were well-practiced in that defense.

Then Bhīma, strong-armed and mighty, rushed forward all at once, giving support in the battle to the high-souled son of Pārṣata (Dhṛṣṭadyumna).
