Then Bāhlīka, O king, showered Dhṛṣṭaketu—hard to endure in combat—with many arrows, and thereafter uttered a lion-like battle cry.

english translation

The king of Cedi, enraged, swiftly struck Bāhlīka in the engagement with nine arrows—like one intoxicated elephant meeting another.

english translation

There, in that battle, the two—wrathful—roared again and again, and closed upon each other in mounting fury, like Aṅgāraka (Mars) and Budha (Mercury).

english translation

Ghaṭotkaca—himself a fearsome warrior—advanced to meet Alambusa, the rākṣasa of cruel deeds, as Śakra (Indra) confronts Bala in battle.

english translation

Then Ghaṭotkaca, enraged, pierced that mighty rākṣasa with ninety keen arrows, O Bhārata, dealing grievous wounds.
