भीष्म उवाच । यद्येवं नाभिगच्छेथा युधि मां पृथिवीपते । शपेयं त्वां महाराज पराभावाय भारत॥६-४१-३३॥
Bhīṣma said: “If you, O lord of the earth, had not come to face me in battle in this very manner, I would have laid a curse upon you, great king, for your defeat, O Bhārata.”
