There are two ‘persons’ in the world: the perishable and the imperishable. All beings are called the perishable; the unchanging principle is called the imperishable.

english translation

But there is another, higher Person, proclaimed as the Paramātman—the imperishable Lord who, pervading the three worlds, sustains them.

english translation

Because I transcend the perishable and am higher even than the imperishable, therefore I am renowned in the world and in the Veda as Puruṣottama, the Supreme Person.

english translation

Whoever, without delusion, thus knows Me as Puruṣottama—such a person is truly all-knowing and devotes themselves to Me with their whole being, O Bhārata.

english translation

Thus this most confidential teaching has been stated by Me, O sinless one. Understanding this, a person becomes truly discerning and has fulfilled what is to be accomplished, O Bhārata.
