षट्सप्ततिर्येऽभिहिता व्याधयो नामलक्षणैः । चिकित्सितमिदं तेषां समासव्यासतः शृणु ॥३॥
We have already described the names and symptoms of the seventy-six kinds of eye disease. We shall now briefly and severally deal with the nature of treatment to be pursued in them.

छेद्यास्तेषु दशैकश्च नव लेख्याः प्रकीर्तिताः । भेद्याः पञ्च विकाराः स्युर्व्यध्याः पञ्चदशैव तु ॥४॥
Of these seventy-six kinds eleven should be treated with incision operations (Cedya), nine with scarification (Lekhya), five with excision (Bhedya), fifteen with venesection (Vyadhya).

इन छिहत्तर प्रकारों में से ग्यारह का उपचार चीरा लगाकर (चेद्या), नौ का लेख्य, पांच का भेद्य तथा पंद्रह का व्याध्याय द्वारा किया जाना चाहिए।

द्वादशाऽशस्त्रकृत्याश्च याप्याः सप्त भवन्ति हि । रोगा वर्जयितव्याः स्युर्दश पञ्च च जानता । असाध्यौ वा भवेतां तु याप्यौ चागन्तुसञ्ज्ञितौ ॥५॥
"Of these, twelve should not be operated upon, seven should be treated with palliative measures (Yapya), ten should be regarded as incurable, and five should be abandoned, as known by experts."

"इनमें से बारह का ऑपरेशन नहीं किया जाना चाहिए, सात का उपचार उपशामक उपायों (यप्य) से किया जाना चाहिए, दस को असाध्य माना जाना चाहिए, और पांच को छोड़ दिया जाना चाहिए, जैसा कि विशेषज्ञों ने जाना है।"
