By giving half a tala (unit of weight) of jaggery mixed with three prāsthas (units) of purified amalaki (Indian gooseberry) juice, and mixing it with powdered medicinal herbs like granthika, chavyajīra, vyosha, black mustard, and ajamodā (carom seeds), the cough is treated.

आधा ताला गुड़ को तीन प्रस्थ शुद्ध आमलकी रस में मिलाकर तथा इसमें ग्रंथिका, चव्यजीरा, व्योषा, काली सरसों और अजमोदा (अजवायन) जैसी औषधीय जड़ी-बूटियों का चूर्ण मिलाकर देने से खांसी ठीक हो जाती है।
