तिस्रः स्मृतास्ताः क्षतजा चतुर्थी क्षयात्तथाऽन्याऽऽमसमुद्भवा च | स्यात् सप्तमी भक्तनिमित्तजा तु निबोध लिङ्गान्यनुपूर्वशस्तु ||६||

The seven types of thirst are classified as follows: the first three types arise from the disturbances of the three doshas (Vata, Pitta, and Kapha), the fourth type is due to injury (Kshataja), the fifth is caused by the depletion of vital fluids (Kshayaja), the sixth type results from indigestion (Amja), and the seventh type arises from dietary errors (Annaja). Each type has its specific symptoms, which are to be understood in sequence.

प्यास के सात प्रकारों को इस प्रकार वर्गीकृत किया गया है: पहले तीन प्रकार तीन दोषों (वात, पित्त और कफ) की गड़बड़ी से उत्पन्न होते हैं, चौथा प्रकार चोट (क्षतज) के कारण होता है, पाँचवाँ महत्वपूर्ण तरल पदार्थों की कमी (क्षयज) के कारण होता है, छठा प्रकार अपच (अमज) के कारण होता है, और सातवाँ प्रकार आहार संबंधी त्रुटियों (अन्नजा) के कारण होता है। प्रत्येक प्रकार के अपने विशिष्ट लक्षण होते हैं, जिन्हें क्रम से समझना चाहिए।
