अतिमात्रं यदा भुक्तं पावके मृदुतां गते । स्थिरीभूतं तु तत्कोष्ठे वायुरावृत्य तिष्ठति ॥१४२॥
When food is consumed in excess, and after it is digested by the digestive fire (pitta), it becomes softened. At that point, air (vayu), obstructed in the intestines, remains trapped and settled in the abdomen.
