In the disease of Raja-yakshma (Phthisis), the following symptoms manifest: hoarseness (loss of voice), pain caused by the deranged Vayu (air element), itching, inflammation in the sides, fever, burning sensation, diarrhea, and the appearance of blood due to the deranged Pitta (bile element).

In cases of Raja-yakshma (Phthisis) caused by an aggravated Kapha (phlegm), the symptoms include a feeling of fullness in the head, lack of appetite, cough, and the obstruction or blockage of the throat (causing difficulty in swallowing or breathing). The throat may also show signs of obstruction or swelling.

The disease may manifest with eleven or six symptoms, which include cough, diarrhea, pain in the sides, loss of voice, fever, and the various signs caused by the derangement of the body's vital forces, such as a change in the voice (hoarseness), appetite loss, and general discomfort. These symptoms are indicative of Raja-yakshma (Phthisis).

A person suffering from Phthisis, afflicted by fever, cough, and blood disorders, may be treated with a combination of three symptoms. If the patient wishes to attain great glory and recovery, they must be treated with the appropriate remedies for these symptoms to overcome the debilitating effects of the disease.
