अथातो ग्रहोत्पत्तिमध्यायं व्याख्यास्यामः ||१||

नव स्कन्दादयः प्रोक्ता बालानां य इमे ग्रहाः | श्रीमन्तो दिव्यवपुषो नारीपुरुषविग्रहाः ||३||

The nine Grahas, namely Skanda and others, who are described as the deities of infant diseases, are endowed with divine forms and possess distinct male and female characteristics.

एते गुहस्य रक्षार्थं कृत्तिकोमाग्निशूलिभिः | सृष्टाः शरवणस्थस्य रक्षितस्यात्मतेजसा ||४||

sanskrit

These (Grahas) were created by the deities Krittika, Uma, and Agni, for the protection of Guha, who, endowed with his own divine power, is safeguarded while residing amidst the stems of Shara grass.

स्त्रीविग्रहा ग्रहा ये तु नानारूपा मयेरिताः | गङ्गोमाकृत्तिकानां ते भागा राजसतामसाः ||५||

The Grahas that have female forms, which are described as having various shapes, are said to be originally made from the Rajasic essence of the goddesses Ganga, Uma, and Krittika.
