वचा सर्जरसः कुष्ठं सर्पिश्चोद्धूपनं हितम् । धारयेदपि जिह्वाश्च चाषचीरल्लिसर्पजाः ॥६॥
Fumigation with Vaca, Sarjarasa, Kushtha, and snake (as beneficial) should be done. The child should also wear the tongue of a Chasa bird, a Chiralli bird, or a snake (as a charm) on the tongue.

वाच, सर्जरास, कुष्ठ और सर्प (जो लाभकारी हो) से धूनी देनी चाहिए। बच्चे को जीभ पर चसा पक्षी, चिरल्ली पक्षी या सर्प की जीभ (ताबीज के रूप में) पहनानी चाहिए।

Offerings of Varnaka (Kampillaka), Churnaka, garlands of flowers, Rasanjana (collyrium), Parada (mercury), and Manah-shila should be made inside a cow-shed, and a sacrifice (or offering) should be performed there.

वर्णक (कम्पिल्लक), चूर्णक, पुष्पमाला, रसाञ्जन, पारद और मनःशिला को गौशाला में अर्पित करना चाहिए तथा वहीं यज्ञ (या आहुति) देनी चाहिए।

Rice boiled in milk (Payasa) along with purodasha (a kind of offering made with dough) should be offered for the purpose of sacrifice. The child should be bathed there with water consecrated by mantras.

यज्ञ के लिए दूध में पकाए हुए चावल (पायसा) तथा पुरोडाशा (आटे से बनाया जाने वाला एक प्रकार का प्रसाद) चढ़ाना चाहिए। बालक को मंत्रों द्वारा पवित्र किए गए जल से स्नान कराना चाहिए।
