स्वाध्यायश्रुतसम्पन्नाः प्रख्याता जन्मकर्मभिः । इति तूष्णीं स्थितान् दैत्यान् विलोक्य पुरुषोत्तमः । स्मयमानो विसृज्याग्रं पुच्छं जग्राह सामरः ।‌। ८-७-४ ॥

Thus the demons remained silent, opposing the desire of the demigods. Seeing the demons and understanding their motive, the Personality of Godhead smiled. Without discussion, He immediately accepted their proposal by grasping the tail of the snake, and the demigods followed Him. ।‌। 8-7-4 ॥

english translation

इस प्रकार असुरगण देवताओं की इच्छा का विरोध करते हुए मौन रहे। भगवान् असुरों के मनोभावों को ताड़ गये अतएव वे मुस्काने लगे। उन्होंने विचार-विमर्श किये बिना तुरन्त ही साँप की पूँछ पकड़ कर उनका प्रस्ताव मान लिया और सारे देवता उनके साथ हो लिये। ।‌। ८-७-४ ॥

svAdhyAyazrutasampannAH prakhyAtA janmakarmabhiH । iti tUSNIM sthitAn daityAn vilokya puruSottamaH । smayamAno visRjyAgraM pucchaM jagrAha sAmaraH ।‌। 8-7-4 ॥
