तदा विमानावलिभिर्नभस्तलं दिदृक्षतां सङ्कुलमास नाकिनाम् । सुरानका दुन्दुभयोऽथ जघ्निरे गन्धर्वमुख्या ननृतुर्जगुः स्त्रियः ।। ७-८-३६ ।।

sanskrit

At that time, the airplanes of the demigods, who desired to see the activities of the Supreme Lord, Nārāyaṇa, crowded the sky. The demigods began beating drums and kettledrums, and upon hearing them the angelic women began to dance, while the chiefs of the Gandharvas sang sweetly. ।। 7-8-36 ।।

english translation

उस समय भगवान् नारायण का दर्शन करने के इच्छुक देवताओं के विमानों से आकाश पट गया। देवतागण ढोल तथा नगाड़े बजाने लगे जिन्हें सुनकर देव लोक की स्त्रियाँ नाचने लगीं और गन्धर्वों के मुखिया मधुर गान गाने लगे। ।। ७-८-३६ ।।

तत्रोपव्रज्य विबुधा ब्रह्मेन्द्रगिरिशादयः । ऋषयः पितरः सिद्धा विद्याधरमहोरगाः ।। ७-८-३७ ।।

My dear King Yudhiṣṭhira, the demigods then approached the Lord. They were headed by Lord Brahmā, King Indra and Lord Śiva and included great saintly persons and the residents of Pitṛloka, Siddhaloka, Vidyādhara-loka and the planet of the snakes ।। 7-8-37 ।।

english translation

हे राजा युधिष्ठिर, तब सारे देवता भगवान् के निकट आ गये। उनमें ब्रह्माजी, इन्द्र तथा शिव जी प्रमुख थे और उनके साथ बड़े-बड़े साधु पुरुष एवं पितृलोक, सिद्धलोक, विद्याधर लोक तथा नागलोक के निवासी भी थे ।। ७-८-३७ ।।

The Manus approached, and so did the chiefs of various other planets. The angelic dancers approached, as did the Gandharvas, the Cāraṇas, the Yakṣas, the inhabitants of Kinnaraloka, the Vetālas, the inhabitants of Kimpuruṣa-loka, ।। 7-8-38 ।।

english translation

वहीं सारे मनु तथा अन्य लोकों के प्रजापति भी पहुँच गये। अप्सराओं के साथ-साथ गन्धर्व, चारण, यक्ष, किन्नर, बेताल, किम्पुरुष लोक के वासी ।। ७-८-३८ ।।

And the personal servants of Viṣṇu like Sunanda and Kumuda. All of them came near the Lord, who glowed with intense light. They individually offered their obeisances and prayers, their hands folded at their heads. ।। 7-8-39 ।।

english translation

तथा विष्णु के पार्षद सुनन्द एवं कुमुद आदि भी पहुँचे। ये सभी भगवान् के निकट आये जो अपने तीव्र प्रकाश से चमक रहे थे। इन सबों ने अपने-अपने सिरों के ऊपर हाथ जोडक़र नमस्कार किया और स्तुतियाँ कीं। ।। ७-८-३९ ।।

ब्रह्मोवाच नतोऽस्म्यनन्ताय दुरन्तशक्तये विचित्रवीर्याय पवित्रकर्मणे । विश्वस्य सर्गस्थितिसंयमान् गुणैः स्वलीलया सन्दधतेऽव्ययात्मने ।। ७-८-४० ।।

Lord Brahmā prayed: My Lord, You are unlimited, and You possess unending potencies. No one can estimate or calculate Your prowess and wonderful influence, for Your actions are never polluted by the material energy. Through the material qualities, You very easily create the universe, maintain it and again annihilate it, yet You remain the same, without deterioration. I therefore offer my respectful obeisances unto You. ।। 7-8-40 ।।

english translation

ब्रह्माजी ने प्रार्थना की: हे प्रभु, आप अनन्त हैं और आपकी शक्ति का कोई अन्त नहीं है। कोई भी आपके पराक्रम तथा अद्भुत प्रभाव का अनुमान नहीं लगा सकता, क्योंकि आपके कर्म माया द्वारा दूषित नहीं होते। आप भौतिक गुणों से सहज ही ब्रह्माण्ड का सृजन, पालन तथा संहार करते हैं लेकिन तो भी आप अव्यय बने रहते हैं। अतएव मैं आपको सादर नमस्कार करता हूँ। ।। ७-८-४० ।।
