श्रीरुद्र उवाच कोपकालो युगान्तस्ते हतोऽयमसुरोऽल्पकः । तत्सुतं पाह्युपसृतं भक्तं ते भक्तवत्सल ।। ७-८-४१ ।।

Lord Śiva said: The end of the millennium is the time for Your anger. Now that this insignificant demon Hiraṇyakaśipu has been killed, O my Lord, who are naturally affectionate to Your devotee, kindly protect his son Prahlāda Mahārāja, who is standing nearby as Your fully surrendered devotee. ।। 7-8-41 ।।

english translation

शिव जी ने कहा : कल्प का अन्त ही आपके क्रोध का समय होता है। अब जबकि यह नगण्य असुर हिरण्यकशिपु मारा जा चुका है, हे भक्तवत्सल प्रभु, कृपा करके उसके पुत्र प्रह्लाद महाराज की रक्षा करें जो आपके निकट पूर्ण शरणागत भक्त के रूप में खड़ा हुआ है। ।। ७-८-४१ ।।

इन्द्र उवाच प्रत्यानीताः परम भवता त्रायता नः स्वभागा दैत्याक्रान्तं हृदयकमलं त्वद्गृहं प्रत्यबोधि । कालग्रस्तं कियदिदमहो नाथ शुश्रूषतां ते मुक्तिस्तेषां न हि बहुमता नारसिंहापरैः किम् ।। ७-८-४२ ।।

King Indra said: O Supreme Lord, You are our deliverer and protector. Our shares of sacrifices, which are actually Yours, have been recovered from the demon by You. Because the demoniac king Hiraṇyakaśipu was most fearsome, our hearts, which are Your permanent abode, were all overtaken by him. Now, by Your presence, the gloom and darkness in our hearts have been dissipated. O Lord, for those who always engage in Your service, which is more exalted than liberation, all material opulence is insignificant. They do not even care for liberation, not to speak of the benefits of kāma, artha and dharma. ।। 7-8-42 ।।

english translation

राजा इन्द्र ने कहा : हे परमेश्वर, आप हमारे उद्धारक तथा रक्षक हैं। आपने दैत्य से हमारे वास्तविक यज्ञ भाग जो वास्तव में आपके हैं लौटाये हैं। चूँकि असुरराज हिरण्यकशिपु अत्यन्त भयानक था, अत: आपके स्थायी निवास हमारे हृदय उसके द्वारा विजित हो चुके थे। अब आपकी उपस्थिति से हमारे हृदयों से निराशा तथा अंधकार दूर हो गये हैं। हे प्रभु, जो लोग आपकी सेवा में सदैव लगे रहते हैं उनके लिए सारा भौतिक ऐश्वर्य तुच्छ है, क्योंकि आपकी सेवा मोक्ष से भी बढक़र है। वे जब मोक्ष की भी परवाह नहीं करते तो काम, अर्थ तथा धर्म के विषय में क्या कहा जाये? ।। ७-८-४२ ।।

All the saintly persons present offered their prayers in this way: O Lord, O supreme maintainer of those sheltered at Your lotus feet, O original Personality of Godhead, the process of austerity and penance, in which You instructed us before, is the spiritual power of Your very self. It is by austerity that You create the material world, which lies dormant within You. This austerity was almost stopped by the activities of this demon, but now, by Yourself appearing in the form of Nṛsiṁhadeva, which is meant just to give us protection, and by killing this demon, You have again approved the process of austerity. ।। 7-8-43 ।।

english translation

सारे उपस्थित ऋषियों ने उनकी इस प्रकार स्तुति की: हे प्रभु, हे शरणागत पालक, हे आदि पुरुष, आपने हमें पहले जिस तपस्या की विधि का उपदेश दिया है, वह आपकी ही आध्यात्मिक शक्ति है। आप तपस्या से ही भौतिक जगत का सृजन करते हैं। यह तपस्या आपमें सुप्त रहती है। इस दैत्य ने अपने कार्यकलापों से इसी तपस्या को रोक सा रखा था, किन्तु अब हम लोगों की रक्षा करने के लिए आप जिस नृसिंह देव के रूप में प्रकट हुए हैं उससे तथा इस असुर को मारने से तपस्या की विधि का फिर से अनुमोदन हुआ है। ।। ७-८-४३ ।।

The inhabitants of Pitṛloka prayed: Let us offer our respectful obeisances unto Lord Nṛsiṁhadeva, the maintainer of the religious principles of the universe. He has killed Hiraṇyakaśipu, the demon who by force enjoyed all the offerings of the śrāddha ceremonies performed by our sons and grandsons on the anniversaries of our death and who drank the water with sesame seeds offered in holy places of pilgrimage. By killing this demon, O Lord, You have taken back all this stolen property from his abdomen by piercing it with Your nails. We therefore wish to offer our respectful obeisances unto You. ।। 7-8-44 ।।

पितृलोक के वासियों ने प्रार्थना की: हम ब्रह्माण्ड के धार्मिक नियमों के पालनकर्ता भगवान् नृसिंह देव को सादर नमस्कार करते हैं। आपने उस असुर को मार डाला है, जो हमारे श्राद्ध के अवसर पर हमारे पुत्रों-पौत्रों द्वारा अर्पित बलि को छीनकर खा जाता था और तीर्थस्थलों पर अर्पित की जाने वाली तिलांजलि को पी जाता था। हे प्रभु, आपने इस असुर को मारकर अपने नाखूनों से इसके पेट को विदीर्ण करके उसमें से समस्त चुराई हुई सामग्री निकाल ली है। अतएव हम आपको सादर नमस्कार करते हैं। ।। ७-८-४४ ।।

The inhabitants of Siddhaloka prayed: O Lord Nṛsiṁhadeva, because we belong to Siddhaloka, we automatically achieve perfection in all eight kinds of mystic power. Yet Hiraṇyakaśipu was so dishonest that by the strength of his power and austerity, he took away our powers. Thus he became very proud of his mystic strength. Now, because this rogue has been killed by Your nails, we offer our respectful obeisances unto You. ।। 7-8-45 ।।

सिद्धलोक के वासियों ने प्रार्थना की: हे भगवान् नृसिंह देव, हम लोग सिद्धलोक के निवासी होने के कारण अष्टांग योग में स्वत:सिद्ध होते हैं। तो भी हिरण्यकशिपु इतना धूर्त था कि उसने अपने बल तथा तपस्या से हमारी सारी शक्तियाँ छीन ली थीं। इस तरह वह अपने योग- बल के प्रति घमंडी हो गया था। अब आपके नखों से इस दुष्ट का वध हो जाने के कारण हम आपको सादर नमस्कार करते हैं। ।। ७-८-४५ ।।
