तां शशंसुर्जना राज्ञीं दिष्ट्या ते पुत्र आर्तिहा । प्रतिलब्धश्चिरं नष्टो रक्षिता मण्डलं भुवः ।। ४-९-५१ ।।

sanskrit

The residents of the palace praised the Queen: Dear Queen, your beloved son was lost a long time ago, and it is your great fortune that he now has come back. It appears, therefore, that your son will be able to protect you for a very long time and will put an end to all your material pangs. ।। 4-9-51 ।।

english translation

राज महल के निवासियों ने रानी की इस प्रकार से प्रशंसा की : हे रानी, दीर्घकाल से आपका प्रिय पुत्र खोया हुआ था। यह आपका परम सौभाग्य है कि वह अब वापस आ गया है। अत: ऐसा प्रतीत होता है कि वह दीर्घकाल तक आपकी रक्षा करेगा और आपके सारे सांसारिक कष्टों को दूर कर देगा। ।। ४-९-५१ ।।

अभ्यर्चितस्त्वया नूनं भगवान् प्रणतार्तिहा । यदनुध्यायिनो धीरा मृत्युं जिग्युः सुदुर्जयम् ।। ४-९-५२ ।।

sanskrit

Dear Queen, you must have worshiped the Supreme Personality of Godhead, who delivers His devotees from the greatest danger. Persons who constantly meditate upon Him surpass the course of birth and death. This perfection is very difficult to achieve. ।। 4-9-52 ।।

english translation

हे रानी, आपने अवश्य ही उन भगवान् की पूजा की होगी, जो भक्तों को बड़े संकट से उबारनेवाले हैं। जो मनुष्य निरन्तर उनका ध्यान करते हैं, वे जन्म तथा मृत्यु की प्रक्रिया से आगे निकल जाते हैं। यह सिद्धि प्राप्त करना अत्यन्त कठिन है। ।। ४-९-५२ ।।

लाल्यमानं जनैरेवं ध्रुवं सभ्रातरं नृपः । आरोप्य करिणीं हृष्टः स्तूयमानोऽविशत्पुरम् ।। ४-९-५३ ।।

sanskrit

The sage Maitreya continued: My dear Vidura, when everyone was thus praising Dhruva Mahārāja, the King was very happy, and he had Dhruva and his brother seated on the back of a she-elephant. Thus he returned to his capital, where he was praised by all classes of men. ।। 4-9-53 ।।

english translation

मैत्रेय मुनि ने आगे बताया : हे विदुर, सभी लोग जब इस प्रकार से ध्रुव महाराज की बड़ाई कर रहे थे तो राजा अत्यन्त प्रसन्न था। उसने ध्रुव तथा उनके भाई को एक हथिनी की पीठ पर सवार कराया। इस प्रकार वह अपनी राजधानी लौट आया, जहाँ सभी वर्ग के लोगों ने उसकी प्रशंसा की। ।। ४-९-५३ ।।

तत्र तत्रोपसङ्कॢप्तैर्लसन्मकरतोरणैः । सवृन्दैः कदलीस्तम्भैः पूगपोतैश्च तद्विधैः ।। ४-९-५४ ।।

sanskrit

The whole city was decorated with columns of banana trees containing bunches of fruits and flowers, and betel-nut trees with leaves and branches were seen here and there. There were also many gates set up which were structured to give the appearance of sharks. ।। 4-9-54 ।।

english translation

सारा नगर केले के स्तम्भों से सजाया गया था, जिनमें फूलों तथा फलों के गुच्छे लटक रहे थे और जहाँ-तहाँ पत्तियों तथा टहनियों से युक्त सुपारी के वृक्ष दिख रहे थे। ऐसे अनेक तोरण भी बनाये गये थे, जो मगर के आकार के थे। ।। ४-९-५४ ।।

चूतपल्लववासःस्रङ् मुक्तादामविलम्बिभिः । उपस्कृतं प्रतिद्वारमपां कुम्भैः सदीपकैः ।। ४-९-५५ ।।

sanskrit

At each and every gate there were burning lamps and big waterpots decorated with differently colored cloth, strings of pearls, flower garlands and hanging mango leaves. ।। 4-9-55 ।।

english translation

द्वार-द्वार पर जलते हुए दीपक और तरह-तरह के रंगीन वस्त्र, मोती की लड़ों, पुष्पहारों तथा लटकती आम की पत्तियों से सज्जित बड़े-बड़े जल के कलश रखे हुए थे। ।। ४-९-५५ ।।
