तत्र तत्रोपसङ्कॢप्तैर्लसन्मकरतोरणैः । सवृन्दैः कदलीस्तम्भैः पूगपोतैश्च तद्विधैः ॥ ४-९-५४ ॥

sanskrit

The whole city was decorated with columns of banana trees containing bunches of fruits and flowers, and betel-nut trees with leaves and branches were seen here and there. There were also many gates set up which were structured to give the appearance of sharks. ॥ 4-9-54 ॥

english translation

सारा नगर केले के स्तम्भों से सजाया गया था, जिनमें फूलों तथा फलों के गुच्छे लटक रहे थे और जहाँ-तहाँ पत्तियों तथा टहनियों से युक्त सुपारी के वृक्ष दिख रहे थे। ऐसे अनेक तोरण भी बनाये गये थे, जो मगर के आकार के थे। ॥ ४-९-५४ ॥
