अथात्मनोऽर्थभूतस्य यतोऽनर्थपरम्परा । संसृतिस्तद्व्यवच्छेदो भक्त्या परमया गुरौ ।। ४-२९-३६ ।।

sanskrit

The real interest of the living entity is to get out of the nescience that causes him to endure repeated birth and death. The only remedy is to surrender unto the Supreme Personality of Godhead through His representative. ।। 4-29-36 ।।

english translation

जीव का वास्तविक हित इसमें है कि वह अविद्या से निकले जिसके कारण उसे बारम्बार जन्म तथा मृत्यु सहनी पड़ती है। इसका एकमात्र निवारण है भगवान् के प्रतिनिधि के माध्यम से उनकी ही शरण ग्रहण करना। ।। ४-२९-३६ ।।

sanskrit

Unless one renders devotional service unto the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Vāsudeva, one cannot possibly become completely detached from this material world, nor can he possibly manifest real knowledge. ।। 4-29-37 ।।

english translation

जब तक मनुष्य भगवान् वासुदेव की भक्ति नहीं करता, तब तक वह न तो इस भौतिक जगत से पूर्णत: विरक्त हो सकता है और न अपने असली ज्ञान को ही प्रकट कर सकता है। ।। ४-२९-३७ ।।

सोऽचिरादेव राजर्षे स्यादच्युतकथाश्रयः । श‍ृण्वतः श्रद्दधानस्य नित्यदा स्यादधीयतः ।। ४-२९-३८ ।।

O best of kings, one who is faithful, who is always hearing the glories of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, who is always engaged in the culture of Kṛṣṇa consciousness and in hearing of the Lord’s activities, very soon becomes eligible to see the Supreme Personality of Godhead face to face. ।। 4-29-38 ।।

english translation

हे राजर्षि, जो श्रद्धावान् है, जो भगवान् की महिमा का निरन्तर श्रवण करता रहता है, जो सदैव कृष्णचेतना के अनुशीलन तथा भगवान् के कार्यकलापों को सुनने में लगा रहता है, वह शीघ्र ही भगवान् का साक्षात्कार करने के योग्य हो जाता है। ।। ४-२९-३८ ।।

My dear King, in the place where pure devotees live, following the rules and regulations and thus purely conscious and engaged with great eagerness in hearing and chanting the glories of the Supreme Personality of Godhead ।। 4-29-39 ।।

english translation

हे राजन्, जिस स्थान में शुद्ध भक्त विधि-विधानों का पालन करते हुए तथा इस प्रकार से नितान्त सचेष्ट रहते हुए एवं उत्सुकतापूर्वक भगवान् के गुणों का श्रवण एवं कीर्तन करते रहते हैं ।। ४-२९-३९ ।।

तस्मिन् महन्मुखरिता मधुभिच्चरित्रपीयूषशेषसरितः परितः स्रवन्ति । ता ये पिबन्त्यवितृषो नृप गाढकर्णैस्तान् न स्पृशन्त्यशनतृड्भयशोकमोहाः ।। ४-२९-४० ।।

sanskrit

In that place if one gets a chance to hear their constant flow of nectar, which is exactly like the waves of a river, one will forget the necessities of life, namely hunger and thirst, and become immune to all kinds of fear, lamentation and illusion. ।। 4-29-40 ।।

english translation

उस स्थान में यदि किसी को अमृत के निरन्तर प्रवाह को सुनने का अवसर प्राप्त हो तो वह जीवन की आवश्यकताएँ—भूख तथा प्यास—भूल जायेगा और समस्त प्रकार के भय, शोक तथा मोह के प्रति निश्चेष्ट हो जायेगा। ।। ४-२९-४० ।।
