अश्नात्यनन्तः खलु तत्त्वकोविदैः श्रद्धाहुतं यन्मुख इज्यनामभिः । न वै तथा चेतनया बहिष्कृते हुताशने पारमहंस्यपर्यगुः ।। ४-२१-४१ ।।

sanskrit

Although the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Ananta, eats through the fire sacrifices offered in the names of the different demigods, He does not take as much pleasure in eating through fire as He does in accepting offerings through the mouths of learned sages and devotees, for then He does not leave the association of devotees. ।। 4-21-41 ।।

english translation

यद्यपि भगवान् अनन्त विभिन्न देवताओं के नामों से अग्नि में अर्पित हवियों को खाते हैं, किन्तु वे अग्नि के माध्यम से खाने में उतनी रुचि नहीं दिखाते जितनी कि विद्वान साधुओं तथा भक्तों के मुख से भेंट को स्वीकार करने में, क्योंकि तब उन्हें भक्तों की संगति त्यागनी नहीं होती। ।। ४-२१-४१ ।।

यद्ब्रह्म नित्यं विरजं सनातनं श्रद्धातपोमङ्गलमौनसंयमैः । समाधिना बिभ्रति हार्थदृष्टये यत्रेदमादर्श इवावभासते ।। ४-२१-४२ ।।

In brahminical culture a brāhmaṇa’s transcendental position is eternally maintained because the injunctions of the Vedas are accepted with faith, austerity, scriptural conclusions, full sense and mind control, and meditation. In this way the real goal of life is illuminated, just as one’s face is fully reflected in a clear mirror. ।। 4-21-42 ।।

english translation

ब्राह्मण-संस्कृति में ब्राह्मणों का दिव्य स्थान शाश्वत रूप से बनाए रखा जाता है, क्योंकि वेदों के आदेशों को श्रद्धा, तप, शास्त्रीय निर्णय, मन तथा इन्द्रिय-निग्रह एवं ध्यान के साथ स्वीकार किया जाता है। इस प्रकार जीवन का वास्तविक लक्ष्य ठीक उसी तरह से प्रकाशमान हो उठता है, जिस प्रकार स्वच्छ दर्पण में किसी का मुँह भली-भाँति प्रतिबिम्बित होता है। ।। ४-२१-४२ ।।

तेषामहं पादसरोजरेणुमार्यावहेयाधिकिरीटमायुः । यं नित्यदा बिभ्रत आशु पापं नश्यत्यमुं सर्वगुणा भजन्ति ।। ४-२१-४३ ।।

sanskrit

O respectable personalities present here, I beg the blessings of all of you that I may perpetually carry on my crown the dust of the lotus feet of such brāhmaṇas and Vaiṣṇavas until the end of my life. He who can carry such dust on his head is very soon relieved of all the reactions which arise from sinful life, and eventually he develops all good and desirable qualities. ।। 4-21-43 ।।

english translation

यहाँ पर समुपस्थित हे आर्यगण, मैं आपका आशीर्वाद चाहता हूँ कि मैं आजीवन अपने मुकुट में ऐसे ब्राह्मणों तथा वैष्णवों के चरणकमलों की धूलि धारण करता रहूँ। जो ऐसी चरण धूलि धारण करता है, वह शीघ्र ही पापमय जीवन से उत्पन्न समस्त कर्मफलों से मुक्त हो जाता है और अंतत: समस्त उत्तम तथा वांछित गुणों से परिपूर्ण हो जाता है। ।। ४-२१-४३ ।।

गुणायनं शीलधनं कृतज्ञं वृद्धाश्रयं संवृणतेऽनुसम्पदः । प्रसीदतां ब्रह्मकुलं गवां च जनार्दनः सानुचरश्च मह्यम् ।। ४-२१-४४ ।।

sanskrit

Whoever acquires the brahminical qualifications — whose only wealth is good behavior, who is grateful, and who takes shelter of experienced persons — gets all the opulence of the world. I therefore wish that the Supreme Personality of Godhead and His associates be pleased with the brāhmaṇa class, with the cows and with me. ।। 4-21-44 ।।

english translation

जो कोई भी ब्राह्मणत्व के गुणों को अर्थात् सदाचार, कृतज्ञता तथा अनुभवी लोगों का आश्रय प्राप्त कर लेता है, उसे संसार का सारा ऐश्वर्य प्राप्त हो जाता है। अत: मेरी यही चाह है कि श्रीभगवान् अपने पार्षदों सहित ब्राह्मण कुल, गौओं तथा मुझ पर प्रसन्न रहें। ।। ४-२१-४४ ।।

मैत्रेय उवाच इति ब्रुवाणं नृपतिं पितृदेवद्विजातयः । तुष्टुवुर्हृष्टमनसः साधुवादेन साधवः ।। ४-२१-४५ ।।

sanskrit

The great sage Maitreya said: After hearing King Pṛthu speak so nicely, all the demigods, the denizens of Pitṛloka, the brāhmaṇas and the saintly persons present at the meeting congratulated him by expressing their good will. ।। 4-21-45 ।।

english translation

मैत्रेय ऋषि ने कहा : राजा पृथु को इस प्रकार सम्भाषण करते सुनकर सभी देवताओं, पितृलोक के वासियों, ब्राह्मणों तथा उस सभा में उपस्थित साधु पुरुषों ने अपनी शुभकामनाएँ व्यक्त करते हुए साधुवाद दिया। ।। ४-२१-४५ ।।
