Srimad Bhagavatam
एष ह्यशेषसत्त्वानामात्मांशः परमात्मनः । आद्योऽवतारो यत्रासौ भूतग्रामो विभाव्यते ॥ ३-६-८ ॥
The gigantic universal form of the Supreme Lord is the first incarnation and plenary portion of the Supersoul. He is the Self of an unlimited number of living entities, and in Him rests the aggregate creation, which thus flourishes. ॥ 3-6-8 ॥
english translation
भगवान् का विश्वरूप प्रथम अवतार तथा परमात्मा का स्वांश होता है। वे असंख्य जीवों के आत्मा हैं और उनमें समुच्चित सृष्टि (भूतग्राम) टिकी रहती है, जो इस तरह फलती फूलती है। ॥ ३-६-८ ॥
