द्रव्योपलब्धिस्थानस्य द्रव्येक्षायोग्यता यदा । तत्पञ्चत्वमहम्मानादुत्पत्तिर्द्रव्यदर्शनम् ।। ३-३१-४५ ।।

sanskrit

When the eyes lose their power to see color or form due to morbid affliction of the optic nerve, the sense of sight becomes deadened. The living entity, who is the seer of both the eyes and the sight, loses his power of vision. ।। 3-31-45 ।।

english translation

जब दृष्टि-तंत्रिका के प्रभावित होने से आँखें रंग या रूप को देखने की शक्ति खो देती हैं, तो चक्षु-इन्द्रिय मृतप्राय हो जाती है। तब आँख तथा दृष्टि का द्रष्टा जीव अपनी देखने की शक्ति खो देता है। ।। ३-३१-४५ ।।
