जीवो ह्यस्यानुगो देहो भूतेन्द्रियमनोमयः । तन्निरोधोऽस्य मरणमाविर्भावस्तु सम्भवः ।। ४-३१-४४ ।।

In this way the living entity gets a suitable body with a material mind and senses, according to his fruitive activities. When the reaction of his particular activity comes to an end, that end is called death, and when a particular type of reaction begins, that beginning is called birth. ।। 3-31-44 ।।

english translation

इस प्रकार सकाम कर्मों के अनुसार जीवात्मा को मन तथा इन्द्रियों से युक्त उपयुक्त शरीर प्राप्त होता है। जब किसी कर्म का फल चुक जाता है, तो इस अन्त को मृत्यु कहते हैं और जब कोई फल प्रारम्भ होता है, तो उस शुभारम्भ को जन्म कहते हैं। ।। ३-३१-४४ ।।
