अक्षिणी चक्षुषाऽऽदित्यो नोदतिष्ठत्तदा विराट् । श्रोत्रेण कर्णौ च दिशो नोदतिष्ठत्तदा विराट् ।। ३-२६-६४ ।।

sanskrit

The sun-god entered the eyes of the virāṭ-puruṣa with the sense of sight, but still the virāṭ-puruṣa did not get up. Similarly, the predominating deities of the directions entered through His ears with the sense of hearing, but still He did not get up. ।। 3-26-64 ।।

english translation

तब सूर्यदेव ने चक्षुरिन्द्रिय से विराट-पुरुष की आँखों में प्रवेश किया, तो भी वह उठा नहीं। इसी तरह दिशाओं के अधिष्ठाता देवों ने श्रवणेन्द्रिय से होकर उनके कानों में प्रवेश किया, किन्तु तो भी वह नहीं उठा। ।। ३-२६-६४ ।।
