रूपमात्राद्विकुर्वाणात्तेजसो दैवचोदितात् । रसमात्रमभूत्तस्मादम्भो जिह्वा रसग्रहः ।। ३-२६-४१ ।।

sanskrit

By the interaction of fire and the visual sensation, the subtle element taste evolves under a superior arrangement. From taste, water is produced, and the tongue, which perceives taste, is also manifested. ।। 3-26-41 ।।

english translation

अग्नि तथा दृष्टि की अन्त:क्रिया से दैवी व्यवस्था के अन्तर्गत स्वाद तन्मात्र उत्पन्न होता है। इस स्वाद से जल उत्पन्न होता है और स्वाद ग्रहण करने वाली जीभ भी प्रकट होती है। ।। ३-२६-४१ ।।
