नान्यत्र मद्भगवतः प्रधानपुरुषेश्वरात् । आत्मनः सर्वभूतानां भयं तीव्रं निवर्तते ।। ३-२५-४१ ।।

sanskrit

The terrible fear of birth and death can never be forsaken by anyone who resorts to any shelter other than Myself, for I am the almighty Lord, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, the original source of all creation, and also the Supreme Soul of all souls. ।। 3-25-41 ।।

english translation

यदि कोई मुझको छोडक़र अन्य की शरण ग्रहण करता है, तो वह जन्म तथा मृत्यु के विकट भय से कभी छुटकारा नहीं पा सकता, क्योंकि मैं सर्वशक्तिमान, परमेश्वर अर्थात् पूर्ण पुरुषोत्तम भगवान्, समस्त सृष्टि का आदि स्रोत तथा समस्त आत्माओं का भी परमात्मा हूँ। ।। ३-२५-४१ ।।

nAnyatra madbhagavataH pradhAnapuruSezvarAt | AtmanaH sarvabhUtAnAM bhayaM tIvraM nivartate || 3-25-41 ||

मद्भयाद्वाति वातोयं सूर्यस्तपति मद्भयात् । वर्षतीन्द्रो दहत्यग्निर्मृत्युश्चरति मद्भयात् ।। ३-२५-४२ ।।

sanskrit

It is because of My supremacy that the wind blows, out of fear of Me; the sun shines out of fear of Me, and the lord of the clouds, Indra, sends forth showers out of fear of Me. Fire burns out of fear of Me, and death goes about taking its toll out of fear of Me. ।। 3-25-42 ।।

english translation

यह मेरी श्रेष्ठता है कि मेरे ही भय से हवा बहती है, मेरे ही भय से सूर्य चमकता है और मेघों का राजा इन्द्र मेरे ही भय से वर्षा करता है। मेरे ही भय से अग्नि जलती है और मेरे ही भय से मृत्यु इतनी जानें लेती है। ।। ३-२५-४२ ।।

madbhayAdvAti vAtoyaM sUryastapati madbhayAt | varSatIndro dahatyagnirmRtyuzcarati madbhayAt || 3-25-42 ||

ज्ञानवैराग्ययुक्तेन भक्तियोगेन योगिनः । क्षेमाय पादमूलं मे प्रविशन्त्यकुतोभयम् ।। ३-२५-४३ ।।

sanskrit

The yogīs, equipped with transcendental knowledge and renunciation and engaged in devotional service for their eternal benefit, take shelter of My lotus feet, and since I am the Lord, they are thus eligible to enter into the kingdom of Godhead without fear. ।। 3-25-43 ।।

english translation

योगीजन दिव्य ज्ञान तथा त्याग से युक्त होकर एवं अपने शाश्वत लाभ के लिए मेरे चरणकमलों में शरण लेते हैं और चूंकि मैं भगवान् हूँ, अत: वे भयमुक्त होकर भगवद्धाम में प्रवेश पाने के लिए पात्र हो जाते हैं। ।। ३-२५-४३ ।।

jJAnavairAgyayuktena bhaktiyogena yoginaH | kSemAya pAdamUlaM me pravizantyakutobhayam || 3-25-43 ||

एतावानेव लोकेऽस्मिन् पुंसां निःश्रेयसोदयः । तीव्रेण भक्तियोगेन मनो मय्यर्पितं स्थिरम् ।। ३-२५-४४ ।।

sanskrit

Therefore persons whose minds are fixed on the Lord engage in the intensive practice of devotional service. That is the only means for attainment of the final perfection of life. ।। 3-25-44 ।।

english translation

अत: जिन व्यक्तियों के मन भगवान् में स्थिर हैं, वे भक्ति का तीव्र अभ्यास करते हैं। जीवन की अन्तिम सिद्धि प्राप्त करने का यही एकमात्र साधन है। ।। ३-२५-४४ ।।

etAvAneva loke'smin puMsAM niHzreyasodayaH | tIvreNa bhaktiyogena mano mayyarpitaM sthiram || 3-25-44 ||
