दिष्ट्या मे भगवान् दृष्टो दुर्दर्शो योऽकृतात्मनाम् । दिष्ट्या पादरजः स्पृष्टं शीर्ष्णा मे भवतः शिवम् ॥ ३-२२-६ ॥
It is my good fortune that I have been able to see you, for you cannot easily be seen by persons who have not subdued the mind or controlled the senses. I am all the more fortunate to have touched with my head the blessed dust of your feet. ॥ 3-22-6 ॥
english translation
यह मेरा सौभाग्य है कि मुझे आपके दर्शन हो सके क्योंकि जिन लोगों ने अपने मन तथा इन्द्रियों को वश में नहीं किया उन्हें आपके दर्शन दुर्लभ हैं। मैं आपके चरणों की धूलि को शिर से स्पर्श करके और भी कृतकृत्य हुआ हूँ। ॥ ३-२२-६ ॥

diSTyA me bhagavAn dRSTo durdarzo yo'kRtAtmanAm । diSTyA pAdarajaH spRSTaM zIrSNA me bhavataH zivam ॥ 3-22-6 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptदिष्ट्या त्वयानुशिष्टोऽहं कृतश्चानुग्रहो महान् । अपावृतैः कर्णरन्ध्रैर्जुष्टा दिष्ट्योशतीर्गिरः ॥ ३-२२-७ ॥
I have fortunately been instructed by you, and thus great favor has been bestowed upon me. I thank God that I have listened with open ears to your pure words. ॥ 3-22-7 ॥

सौभाग्य से मुझे आपके द्वारा उपदेश प्राप्त हुआ है और इस प्रकार आपने मेरे ऊपर महती कृपा की है। मैं भगवान् को धन्यवाद देता हूँ कि मैं अपने कान खोलकर आपके विमल शब्दों को सुन रहा हूँ। ॥ ३-२२-७ ॥

hk transliteration by Sanscriptस भवान् दुहितृस्नेहपरिक्लिष्टात्मनो मम । श्रोतुमर्हसि दीनस्य श्रावितं कृपया मुने ॥ ३-२२-८ ॥
O great sage, graciously be pleased to listen to the prayer of my humble self, for my mind is troubled by affection for my daughter. ॥ 3-22-8 ॥

हे मुनि, कृपापूर्वक मुझ दीन की प्रार्थना सुनें, क्योंकि मेरा मन अपनी पुत्री के स्नेह से अत्यन्त उद्विग्न है। ॥ ३-२२-८ ॥

My daughter is the sister of Priyavrata and Uttānapāda. She is seeking a suitable husband in terms of age, character and good qualities. ॥ 3-22-9 ॥

मेरी पुत्री प्रियव्रत तथा उत्तानपाद की बहन है। वह आयु, शील, गुण आदि में अपने अनुकूल पति की तलाश में है। ॥ ३-२२-९ ॥

priyavratottAnapadoH svaseyaM duhitA mama । anvicchati patiM yuktaM vayaHzIlaguNAdibhiH ॥ 3-22-9 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptयदा तु भवतः शीलश्रुतरूपवयोगुणान् । अशृणोन्नारदादेषा त्वय्यासीत्कृतनिश्चया ॥ ३-२२-१० ॥
The moment she heard from the sage Nārada of your noble character, learning, beautiful appearance, youth and other virtues, she fixed her mind upon you. ॥ 3-22-10 ॥

जब से इसने नारद मुनि से आपके उत्तम चरित्र, विद्या, रूप, वय (आयु) तथा अन्य गुणों के विषय में सुना है तब से यह अपना मन आपमें स्थिर कर चुकी है। ॥ ३-२२-१० ॥
