ववौ वायुः सुदुःस्पर्शः फूत्कारानीरयन् मुहुः । उन्मूलयन्नगपतीन् वात्यानीको रजोध्वजः ॥ ३-१७-५ ॥
There blew winds which were most uninviting to the touch, hissing again and again and uprooting gigantic trees. They had storms for their armies and clouds of dust for their ensigns. ॥ 3-17-5 ॥

बारम्बार साँय-साँय करती तथा विशाल वृक्षों को उखाड़ती हुई अत्यन्त दुस्सह स्पर्शी हवाएँ बहने लगीं। उस समय अंधड़ उनकी सेनाएँ और धूल के मेघ उनकी ध्वजाएँ लग रही थीं। ॥ ३-१७-५ ॥
