श्रीभगवानुवाच एतौ सुरेतरगतिं प्रतिपद्य सद्यः संरम्भसम्भृतसमाध्यनुबद्धयोगौ । भूयः सकाशमुपयास्यत आशु यो वः शापो मयैव निमितस्तदवैत विप्राः ॥ ३-१६-२६ ॥
The Lord replied: O brāhmaṇas, know that the punishment you inflicted on them was originally ordained by Me, and therefore they will fall to a birth in a demoniac family. But they will be firmly united with Me in thought through mental concentration intensified by anger, and they will return to My presence shortly. ॥ 3-16-26 ॥

भगवान् ने उत्तर दिया : हे ब्राह्मणो, यह जान लो कि तुमने उनको जो दण्ड दिया है, वह मूलत: मेरे द्वारा निश्चित किया गया था, अत: वे आसुरी परिवार में जन्म लेने के लिए पतित होंगे। किन्तु वे क्रोध द्वारा वर्धित मानसिक एकाग्रता द्वारा मेरे विचार में मुझसे दृढ़तापूर्वक संयुक्त होंगे और शीघ्र ही मेरे पास लौट आयेंगे। ॥ ३-१६-२६ ॥

ब्रह्मोवाच अथ ते मुनयो दृष्ट्वा नयनानन्दभाजनम् । वैकुण्ठं तदधिष्ठानं विकुण्ठं च स्वयम्प्रभम् ॥ ३-१६-२७ ॥
Lord Brahmā said: After seeing the Lord of Vaikuṇṭha, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, in the self-illuminated Vaikuṇṭha planet, the sages left that transcendental abode. ॥ 3-16-27 ॥
english translation
ब्रह्माजी ने कहा : वैकुण्ठ के स्वामी पूर्ण पुरुषोत्तम भगवान् को आत्मज्योतित वैकुण्ठलोक में देखने के बाद मुनियों ने वह दिव्य धाम छोड़ दिया। ॥ ३-१६-२७ ॥

भगवन्तं परिक्रम्य प्रणिपत्यानुमान्य च । प्रतिजग्मुः प्रमुदिताः शंसन्तो वैष्णवीं श्रियम् ॥ ३-१६-२८ ॥
The sages circumambulated the Supreme Lord, offered their obeisances and returned, extremely delighted at learning of the divine opulences of the Vaiṣṇava. ॥ 3-16-28 ॥

मुनियों ने भगवान् की प्रदक्षिणा की, उन्हें नमस्कार किया तथा दिव्य वैष्णव ऐश्वर्य को जान लेने पर वे अत्यधिक हर्षित होकर लौट आये। ॥ ३-१६-२८ ॥

भगवाननुगावाह यातं मा भैष्टमस्तु शम् । ब्रह्मतेजः समर्थोऽपि हन्तुं नेच्छे मतं तु मे ॥ ३-१६-२९ ॥
The Lord then said to His attendants, Jaya and Vijaya: Depart this place, but fear not. All glories unto you. Though I am capable of nullifying the brāhmaṇas’ curse, I would not do so. On the contrary, it has My approval. ॥ 3-16-29 ॥
english translation
तब भगवान् ने अपने सेवकों जय तथा विजय से कहा : इस स्थान से चले जाओ, किन्तु डरो मत। तुम लोगों की जय हो। यद्यपि मैं ब्राह्मणों के शाप को निरस्त कर सकता हूँ, किन्तु मैं ऐसा करूँगा नहीं। प्रत्युत इसे मेरा समर्थन प्राप्त है। ॥ ३-१६-२९ ॥

एतत्पुरैव निर्दिष्टं रमया क्रुद्धया यदा । पुरापवारिता द्वारि विशन्ती मय्युपारते ॥ ३-१६-३० ॥
This departure from Vaikuṇṭha was foretold by Lakṣmī, the goddess of fortune. She was very angry because when she left My abode and then returned, you stopped her at the gate while I was sleeping. ॥ 3-16-30 ॥

वैकुण्ठ से यह प्रस्थान लक्ष्मीजी ने पहले ही बतला दिया था। वे क्रुद्ध थीं, क्योंकि जब उन्होंने मेरा धाम छोड़ा और वे फिर लौटीं तो तुमने उन्हें द्वार पर रोक लिया जब कि मैं सो रहा था। ॥ ३-१६-३० ॥
