पद्मकोशं तदाऽऽविश्य भगवत्कर्मचोदितः । एकं व्यभाङ्क्षीदुरुधा त्रिधा भाव्यं द्विसप्तधा ॥ ३-१०-८ ॥
Thus engaged in the service of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Lord Brahmā entered into the whorl of the lotus, and as it spread all over the universe he divided it into three divisions of worlds and later into fourteen divisions. ॥ 3-10-8 ॥
english translation
इस तरह पूर्ण पुरुषोत्तम भगवान् की सेवा में लगे ब्रह्माजी कमल के कोश में प्रविष्ट हुए और चूँकि वह सारे ब्रह्माण्ड में फैला हुआ था, अत: उन्होंने इसे ब्रह्माण्ड के तीन विभागों में और उसके बाद चौदह विभागों में बाँट दिया। ॥ ३-१०-८ ॥
